When You Are Triggered…

With todays highly charged politics and a media that panders to fear and sensationalism, it is easy to get triggered. Already stressed out with the pressures of your own life, and overwhelmed with everything you need to do to keep your life afloat, you may find yourself emotionally worked up over someone else’s life or problem because it resonances with something deep inside of yourself.

Because of your own history and sensitivities, you may automatically sympathize with one person, group, issue or cause you think is a victim of injustice, and get violently angry with another you prejudge as aggressor frequently before you know all the facts and even despite the ‘facts’. That is because your emotions are really about you and something similar that has happened to you, your loved ones, ancestors or tribe in this lifetime or the distant past that was never resolved, healed and put to rest.

Whether you are particularly sensitive to the slightest hint of racial, religious, gender, tribal, national or ethnic prejudice, the trauma and injustice of the past may be hard wired into your DNA. You may have absorbed and taken upon yourself the injustices done to your ancestors long since dead (even generations or centuries dead) as if it happened to you personally.

A sure hint that the root cause of your upset lies within yourself is when your emotional reaction is excessive to the current situation, when you can’t let it go, when it doesn’t really effect your personal life, and when it happened long ago, perhaps even before you were born.

Every emotional reaction you experience, every evil and type of  injustice that exists today, has occurred before, many times over, and often, many times worse. But because it is occurring again, you suffer much more than perhaps the current situation warrants. If you can heal the prior occasions, your reaction will be only to what is happening now, not added on top of what happened years, generations or lifetimes ago.

What to do about it

When you are triggered by events whether personal, local, national or global, try to:

  • Identify the issue or type of event. Name it.

List some possibilities on paper. If you know how to dowse, then ask if you have any stuck energies on that issue, and the percentage or the degree to which you do. If you don’t know how to dowse, then quiet your mind, and in meditation start asking some questions. Suggestions are below.

  • What is underneath this upset?
  • Where did it come from?
  • Did it originate with me or with my family, my ancestors, my tribe?.
  • Show me the root cause.
  • What wisdom can I extract from it?
  • What positive things can be gleaned?
  • How can I use this situation to grow, to be a better person?
  • How can I turn it into a blessing for myself or others?
  • How can I look at this situation so it doesn’t bother me nearly as much?
  • What is the big picture here?

Hold a willingness to look honestly at yourself. Intend to extract some wisdom or value from both the current event and any experiences of a similar nature. That learning can include an understanding the underlying dynamics, why something may have happened, and perhaps an idea to prevent it from happening again or lessen that possibility. It might mean noting that changes need to be made within yourself even if changes are needed within the larger community.

  • Rather than immediately assigning blame of who is wrong and needs to be punished, consider that what you judge may also reflect a quality inside yourself.

Doreen Virtue taught me to say: “I recognize and forgive in myself what irritates me about you.”

This is related to ‘the shadow self explained at length by psychiatrist, Dr. Carl Gustav Jung and author Debbie Ford. The ego avoids self loathing by denying the existence of faults within the self while projecting those same faults onto someone else. There is a theory that when internal faults that are hidden, ignored, or denied, that this will attract people who share these faults as the soul’s attempt to get you to look at yourself. As you admit your own faults and forgive yourself, you will have greater tolerance of others. Even better, as you heal those faults, you will more likely attract others who have likewise worked on healing their own issues.

The ancient Hawaiians had a practice of forgiveness and reconciliation called Ho’oponopono.  This practice was later simplified by Dr. Hew Lin and popularized by Joe Vitale. In the original practice, a shaman and members of the family or community would gather around a person and take responsibility for what had happened to or by that individual, and ask for his forgiveness. While he was a  prison psychiatrist, Dr. Lin would sit with the file folders of various inmates and repeat “I’m sorry. Please forgive me. I love you. Thank you.” This was done over a period of time without actual inmate contact. Yet this simple practice resulted in such improvement in these prisoners that they were later released.

If practicing Ho’oponopono without relaying that information to an individual still has a positive effect upon that person, it may because of quantum entanglement. While the idea taken from physics of quantum entanglement refers to the interaction of particles at a distance, some think that this interaction extends to humans as well – that everyone and everything is somehow intertwined. Is it too far a stretch to think that what happens to you effects me and vice versa, and maybe even what I think and feel effects you and vice versa? If so, then if you want to change the world, start with changing yourself.

However, if you also believe that changes have to be made within the community and it’s systems or the larger systems outside your locale, take some constructive action because it will go a long way to healing your upset.

  • Focus on what you can do of a positive, practical nature locally to start the process.
  • And, again remember that the changes you would like to see in the world involve making changes within yourself.
  • Meditate or dowse to transmute any trauma or upset you personally suffered recently.
  • Clear any other experiences you remember from your past.
  • 20170516_acc-morecover.jpgHold the intention to clear any other experiences you do not remember whether in this lifetime or another.

You can do this through hypnosis, meditation, the Emotion Code, or the Infinite Intelligence Process that I developed. See my book, Accessing More for instructions on how to do this.

  • Clear those upsets/issues of a similar nature of your ancestors in this lifetime or another, and that experienced by your tribe.

Again, you can do this through the Infinite Intelligence Process, the Emotion Code by Dr. Bradley Nelson, or through dowsing (see my pendulum dowsing manual, Therapeutic Dowsing and Telepathic Healing).

  • dowsing cover front
    R
efocus on the positive opposite that you would like instead.
  • Finally, take action no matter how small to move towards what you would like to see in the real world.

Recent Example

Let’s take the high emotional charge attached to the Kavanaugh proceedings. I bring it up only because it was recent and because I found myself being triggered. I will not discuss the politics or merits of either side, but rather illustrate how to take any triggering event to recognize and clear non-beneficial or stuck energies within yourself. This is important because if you are being triggered, you cannot be objective or think clearly,  sleep easily, enjoy peace of mind or anything else until you do heal, transmute, rebalance, or clear it.
There were multiple possible issues here. If you were triggered, you might ask yourself, if you are carrying any unresolved, stuck energies of your own from this or any other lifetime, or if you are carrying those of an ancestor, loved one, or tribe.
Ask the following questions one at a time starting with “have I ever …..?” After you are finished, repeat the same questions with ” have any of my loved ones..?” Next, ask “am I carrying any trauma from my ancestors regarding….?”
  • Have ____ (I, my loved ones, ancestors) ever been assaulted or lived in fear of same?
  • Have  ____ (I, my loved ones, ancestors) suffered sexual abuse, rape, or fear of same?
  • Have ____ (I, my loved ones, ancestors) been a victim of violent crime?
  • Have ____ (I, my loved ones, ancestors) suffered greatly because of not being believed, but rather ridiculed or punished for speaking up about some wrongdoing?
  • Have ____ (I, my loved ones, ancestors) suffered greatly because of not being heard or fear of not being heard because ____ (I ___ am/was), they ____ (are/were) ___ a (man/woman, member of lower standing caste/group/tribe)?
  • Have ____ (I, my loved ones, ancestors) ever suffered after being falsely accused of some misdoing, crime or serious violation?
  • Has ____ (my, my loved one’s, ancestor’s) reputation, business, standing in the community been destroyed because of false accusations perhaps through politics or someone else’s dislike or personal agenda?
  • Have ____ (I, my loved ones, ancestors) received threats or  ___ (suffered, been captured, imprisoned, tortured, or killed) because of false accusations?
If so, then in  meditative state, hold the clear intention as follows. If you know how to dowse,  then work with a pendulum to indicate your progress.
  •  “There is a part of my being that knows what positive learning I can extract from any this experience of ____ that ___ (I/they) have suffered (or was afraid of suffering). Take action now, and let me know when that is done.
  • “There is a part of my Being that knows if I or anyone close to me in this or another incarnation have ever suffered _____ or lived in fear of suffering ____. And that part is extracting the positive learning from each and every one of those experiences so that it is unnecessary to ever experience it again. Take action now, and let me know when that is done.” dowsing cover front
  • There is a part of my Being that can transmute, heal, and clear all trauma attached to each of these experiences that I and my ancestors have had, so that there is no longer any need to attract more of these experiences. Take action now, and let me know when that is done.”
  • Envision the positive opposite in the future as if it already exists. Follow this with powerful affirmations statements while meditating or dowsing.

  • There is a part of my Being that knows what is mine to do to create a world where _____(there is trust and mutual respect) and is guiding and motivating me to take appropriate steps now.
  • or “There is a part of my Being that chooses to create a world where _____. And that part is working on it. Take action now, and let me know when that is firmly in process.”
  • “There is a part of my Being that knows who else might benefit from any of the healing we have done today and is reaching out to their High Self to duplicate whatever is useful in the way it is helpful and only helpful. Take action now, and let me know when that is done.”

Why should Hypnotherapists and others should learn pendulum dowsing?

20190411_dowsing cover

Pendulum Dowsing locates issues very fast. It allows you to quickly grasp the broader dynamics so you become more comprehensive and effective!

This translates into greater productivity and client satisfaction, and enhanced reputation, more referrals, and greater job satisfaction for you.

Benefits of Dowsing:

  • Rapidly locate the root cause and other factors involved in any issue even before a client walks in the door!
  • Pinpoint what needs to be addressed before the intake interview! This can guide the intake process itself by knowing what questions to ask!
  • Establish priorities and a treatment plan!
  • Track client acceptability of various hypnotic interventions and proper pacing!
  • Set up a strategy for problem solving of any kind – personal or professional!
  • Clear causative factors or determine a strategy to do so!
  • Determine the client’s subconscious motivation to solve his problem/reach his goal, do his part to help himself!
  • Quickly determine where a client is stuck and use dowsing to clear it!
  • Use for marketing strategies, finding an office, and a host of other practical business matters!
Dowsing whether done using a forked stick, L-rods, bobber or pendulum is a wonderful way to tune into the vast information stored in the unconscious and superconscious mind. While historically been used to locate water, gold and ores, and more recently applied to locating missing persons, pets, objects such as unexploded bombs, it can be used for literally everything INCLUDING every aspect of your client work, business and personal matters.
As a hypnotherapist, I use it extensively to locate and clear stuck energies, both for myself on a regular basis, and for my clients. Stuck energies include mental and emotional issues and upsets that have piled up and make dealing with current issues, staying healthy or healing if you are ill, achieving your goals, and living your life with enthusiasm and abundant vitality much more difficult. So freeing up this energy is vital to all areas of your life. It includes not just the unpleasant memories but also the negative beliefs and judgments about those events that continue to color your world and limit you in multiple ways including resolving it effectively.

How does energy get stuck?

Basically, energy gets stuck when it is unprocessed. Perhaps when an upset occurred, you or your client didn’t know how to deal with it and, therefore, didn’t. Perhaps you were too young. Perhaps you didn’t have the skills, or the awareness of what you were registering on an unconscious level. Perhaps your family, culture or religion taught you to deny and not express your thoughts and the resulting emotions. So you may have stuffed your feelings instead of quickly resolving them thereby avoiding future issues.
On the other hand, even if you had the awareness of the importance of resolving issues and even the therapeutic skills, you may have had neither the time or energy to do so. This frequently happens during a crisis, ill health, or overwhelm. By the time the emergency passes, you may be so busy on catching up on other needed tasks, that you lack any interest in going back to dealing with past unpleasantries.

The Unpleasant Wake-Up Call

As you are aware, unprocessed negative emotions and the non-beneficial thoughts have a way of surfacing as illness, insomnia, nightmares, relationship issues, increasing irritation, explosive bursts of anger, depression, malaise, and problems of all types. Consequently, it is important process them as quickly as possible. However, many times what you think is resolved does not stop the negative repeating pattern. This indicates that you never addressed the root cause or other important factors.

Dowsing can help!

This is where dowsing is profoundly helpful to locate what you missed. Yes,  you can do hypnotic regression work, or unconscious healing modalities, but all are very time consuming and require the assistance of someone else (if it is for yourself). Here is where you can do powerful self-healing as well as cut to the chase with your clients as well.

Upset as Opportunity

Fuming over what you don’t like and the people you hold responsible for it may let off steam, but it burns up your precious life force energy and it doesn’t change anything!

I suggest that you as quickly as possible accept that what happened, and is now history. Fuming doesn’t change history. The question is

What do you want to do about it?

How can you use it constructively?

Can you turn it into a blessing?

As I have said in previous posts, deliberately choose to look for a way to turn every experience especially the upsetting ones into a blessing. This will happen if you grow, if you learn something positive, if you take constructive action on things that previously you neglected or let slide, and if you finally turn your attention to dealing with wounds and issues long past but never resolved.

When you are sick and tired of being sick and tired, miracles of positive change can occur!

You can train yourself to use upset as a powerful

  • catalyst for healing yourself and
  • as motivation to create something better.

Here’s how.

Write the answers to the questions below. If you have trouble identifying them, brainstorm possible answers on paper and dowse them out. If you don’t know how to dowse, brainstorm anyway. Then close your eyes and ask yourself the question again. Or just write and write until you get to the core issue.

  • What’s happening that I don’t want?
  • What’s not happening that I do want?
  • What’s the key issue here?
  • What are my thoughts about what’s happening?
  • What are my emotions about it?
  • What do I want to happen instead?
  • What’s the essence of what I want?
  • What’s stopping me from getting it?
  • Is there another way to get the essence of what I want?
  • When were other times that something similar happened?
  • When was the earliest time that something similar to this happened?

Work your way through all of these questions, addressing them as you go.

Then ask some further questions:

  • How did I contribute in any way to what happened?
  • What positive steps can I make or what changes need to occur so this doesn’t happen again?
  • How can I improve my ____ (communication, follow-through, systems, etc.) so that my _____ (business, relationships) are actually better as a result of what happened?

Doing all of the above will move you forward.

Heal yourself rather than trying to change someone else!

Recently I spoke with someone who was upset because he had been unable to get someone else to change. He had tried talking to the person, but wasn’t getting anywhere. I suggested that he first identify and then address his own emotions and his thoughts around it before speaking to the person again so that they would not cause the person to tune him out.

In other words, if you are emotionally upset, you will make the other person defensive, and less likely to even consider changing their behavior and do what you want. You need to find a way to speak to the person from a neutral place, or better yet, from a place of common ground.

One way of starting that process is to detach your worth, your self-esteem from what someone else is doing. Each person acts out of who they are, not from who you are. And incidentally, people never change for you. They may moderate their behavior somewhat if the negative consequences are great enough. But they never change for you.

Eliminate the ‘shoulds and shouldn’ts’

Another initial step to reduce your upset is to eliminate the idea that people should or shouldn’t be any certain way or do anything according to your standards. Those self-righteous judgment calls are responsible for a great deal of stress. However, once you clarify the behavior you don’t want and the behavior you do want, you will be able to clearly communicate it to the other person.

As he labeled the other person as controlling, I suggested that he could turn this situation into a blessing if he could identify and then heal all similar experiences starting with the first time he was upset because of controlling behavior. In other words, this annoying current event might be viewed as positive by alerting him to a host of unresolved similar events festering in his unconscious not only causing him stress but setting up a negative repeating pattern.

My own experience

Years ago I was being constantly hit with the energy of jealousy. I could always tell when the conference brochures hit the mailboxes, because I could feel the red hot feverish flames blasting in my face, and it made me jittery and hard to focus. Once in giving a presentation of how and why to integrate Reiki with hypnosis, I could feel the arrows coming from 3 distinct locations in the room. So I asked the Reiki Masters present to stand, and guess what? They were sitting in the very same locations. These weren’t bad people, they just must have thought that they could or should have been the ones speaking on the topic I had chosen.

While I had previously worked diligently to heal my distress because of other people’s jealousy of me, it had not stopped the negative pattern until I dealt with the root cause.  As I thought about the first time this issue had occurred , I turned my attention to the lifelong problematic relationship with my sister that started in early childhood. Only after I healed that, did the negative pattern stop. I have not been affected since.

Whether any one is or has been jealous of me since, I don’t feel it anymore. I am not impacted. My energy is no longer drained.

Moral of the story:

Heal the root cause to stop the pattern.

Make positive changes going forward.

And if you do that, it will have been a blessing.

Problem Solving with Dowsing

Someone just asked me how to use dowsing to deal with autism. The basic principles of dowsing on health follows the same rules of dowsing for solution for anything with the understanding that the stakes are higher, there are laws regulating this,  you need to work on a can’t hurt basis, or for educational or research purposes only.

First, take a piece of paper and write down the objective. In this case, the objective could be healing or reversing the condition, lessening a particular symptom, or improving a particular functionality. Then do an internet search. Has anyone healed from this, reversed it, improved and if so, how? List things everything you already know about it including what your doctor has said.

You can also list and then dowse out categories of health professionals as to who to consult. Besides talking to different categories of professionals of different types, do your own research. Brainstorm initially without censoring any additional thing to search that might be relevant to your objective, and add them to your list. Include the word ‘other’.

Dowse out any of your appropriate questions, such as:

  • What is the most important thing I can do to ____ (reverse this condition of ___/ lessen this symptom of___/ improve my ability to ____, etc.)? Please indicate.
  • On a scale of 0-100%, what is the degree that this will help ____?
  • What is the next most important thing I can do to ____ (reverse this condition of ___/ lessen this symptom of___/ improve my ability to ____, etc.)? Please indicate.
  • On a scale of 0-100%, what is the degree that this will help ____?

Keep going until you know some basic things that you can do yourself to improve matters. If the pendulum points to the word ‘other’, then brainstorm some more, and see if you have a complete idea upon which to design your own COMMON SENSE, HEALTHY SELF CARE ON A CAN’T HURT BASIS.

Also write a list of things that cause or are related to your illness or condition. Your objective can be to identify your own vulnerabilities or behaviors that were at cause. Once identified, you can then take greater care to avoid or stop doing what you can from worsening the situation.

Your possible dowsing checklist/chart can be

  • What are the causes of _____?
  • What things worsen the condition of ___?
  • What things make the symptom of ____ worse?

Dowsing on health challenges is not to claim to ‘treat’ disease or any medically or psychologically diagnosed condition for someone else. But as all health conditions are caused or worsened by beliefs, judgments, emotions and trauma, other stress, diet, environmental conditions, and habits, these issues, which are not part of the legislatively protected area of practicing medicine or psychotherapy, are within the scope of what you can safely do. You can suggest that others might want to investigate ____, discuss with their doctor about the possible benefit of ____. You can provide information of certain books or websites or modalities that claim to be helpful. But when it comes to your own body, it is your right to do whatever you want.

Furthermore, by listing various allopathic or alternative treatments, a high dowsing rating of potential benefit could be the starting point for a conversation with your health professional.

That is not to imply that dowsing can’t do more. It can do a lot more. But the above is where I suggest that you start. As dowser/radionics professional Marty Lucas says, everything is energy and information. Dowsers fall into the category of energy healers. As such, we can add energy and provide information to the system. As such, you can dowse out exactly what information should be supplied and through strongly held intention project that. But that is a topic for much later discussion.

Follow the creed: Above all, do no harm.

Creating Dowsing Charts & Checklists

20190411_dowsing cover

Reprinted from Therapeutic Dowsing & Telepathic Healing © by Roxanne Louise and available for sale at http://www.RoxanneLouise.com.

 Chart Work

Learn to use a pendulum in conjunction with charts or lists of paper upon which options or possibilities are written. You can make up your own as pertinent for your use, use prepared charts, or both. I feel that working with charts rather than asking “yes” or “no” questions is a better use of the pendulum. You will be less likely to “lead” the answers. Furthermore, you will be led to information that consciously you might not even think to ask.

The pendulum can only work with the words or information found on the charts. The words given may be close but not exactly the right ones. Use your instincts to investigate and clarify the information by asking further questions with the pendulum. Keep your mind in neutral (objective) mode and connected to your gut level feelings. Listen to whether you get a hum or feeling of confirmation (a ‘yes’ response), or a tightening or tension in your gut (a ‘no’ response). The quality of the information you receive may depend on the quality of your chart or checklist. Always add to further refine what you have, or make new ones.

If you are helping another person, inquire how they are feeling rather than tell them the dowsing results literally . Ask them questions related to the words indicated to find the truth. Be gentle. Telling someone that they are ____ or have a block in ____ is arrogant and possibly untrue. Use the information as just a beginning point of discussion. Giving a literal reading, therefore, besides being inaccurate, can be damaging. Look beneath the surface. Remember the words located are a guide only. They then need to be interpreted with wisdom and a lot of common sense.

If I find anything that might be upsetting to a client, I keep silent about it and ask if I can relay this information. I dowse additional silent questions to clarify things before I say anything out loud. If the client can not be helped by relaying the information, don’t relay it.

My usual procedure with a client is to clear myself and them before they walk into the office or while they are doing the paperwork (intake sheet or return visit sheet). I check with a master chart that has the numbers of all other charts written on it, and ask

Is there is anything here that can help _____ (name of person) with ____(problem). Please indicate.

Is there anything else that can help _____.”

In this way I know what I can expect and have a head start on the therapy.

I might even ask Spirit if I can show the charts to the client. Some people are more open to this than others. If they are not, I do the work privately. If they are open, I hand them a pad to take notes as I work with the pendulum myself (I find this faster than teaching them to use the pendulum, although I do have classes.) I then use the information gained through dowsing in hypnosis or Reiki to make sure I cover all bases. We discuss information as it comes up to clarify the issues.

Whether I use charts or checklists, I do use a pendulum in my sessions with clients [whether visible to them or not]. I may introduce it to the client as my “hunch ball”. With hypnosis clients, I tell them that I am going to ask a few questions as to which techniques to use. Once their eyes are closed, I continue to dowse with questions of

Should I pursue that line of questioning?

Are we through?

Should I do ___?

I also combine the spiritual healing and telepathic healing with every client throughout the session. With Reiki clients, I use the pendulum over the body to determine a treatment strategy, and to balance chakras. I don’t explain it, I just quickly do it.

Since working with the pendulum and charts, I have found out important information about a client’s problems and needs that I could not have found out any other way. For example, my effectiveness has gone way up on smoking cessation, even though it was good before. As a result, therapy has become much faster and effective. I am able to locate blocks regardless of how deeply buried. And so can you.

Start by working on yourself by being willing to find out about yourself, release any negatives and do whatever else you have to do to grow and develop. Be charitable. Regardless of what negative things you find, the truth is that you are special and a child of the Creator. To me, that makes you basically good. Simply be willing to learn and to grow.

When you first start with charts, you may find a lot of blocks and other problems. As you clear them, less shows up, and Spirit focuses on the main issues. Your subconscious brings up the relevant information. Your subconscious mind is very smart in only bringing to your attention what you can deal with at any one time. As you clear issues, you may get a whole new batch of things tomorrow. Like an onion, it is cleared away layer by layer. Your job is to remove the known garbage effectively so that it won’t accumulate and you won’t have to deal with the same stuff over and over again. To make this process easier, always ask Spirit to clear any issue revealed “on every level and dimension” of your being.

Ideas for your own charts

1. Write a list of all the things that you have to do or are considering doing.

What is the best use of my time and energy right now?

What is the best use of my time and energy today/this week/this month/ year?

Would any of these be helpful for me now?

Which of these activities would help me the most?

2. Draw a simple sketch of the body.

Are any chakras blocked? Please indicate where.

Please clear ___ chakra on every level.

Are there any other chakras that are blocked? Please indicate.

Or if you are a body worker, ask

Where do I need to focus my efforts to help this person today?

Where does this person need the most (or additional) amount of time?

Where else?

3. Get a map of your area. Ask:

Where is the best location for my new office?

Where is the largest source of my business?

Where are the people who want my services and are willing to pay for them?

4. Write a list of all possible occupations. Skip every other line. Include the word “other.”

What field would be the best use of my skills and talents right now?

What field should I investigate for my life’ s main work?

What are the skills and trades I have developed in my past lifetimes?

5. Write down all possible reasons why you do a particular self-destructive habit, ie. overeating, smoking, etc. List the word “other.”

Is the main reason why I ________ on this paper?

Please indicate the main reason.

Please indicate the next main reason.

6. If you are feeling anxious or upset and don’t know why, write down all possibilities, ie. PMS, sugar imbalance, candida, stress, sick, feeling ___, worried about ____. Include the word “other.”

Is the main reason why I am feeling ______on this paper?

Please indicate the main reason.

Please indicate the next main reason.

7. Use a percentage chart to ask:

On a scale of 0-100, what are my positive feelings about _____?

What are my negative feelings about ____?

As things stand now, what is the likelihood of _____ happening?

8. If you are trouble shooting or brain storming, list possible areas to investigate.

What area should I investigate first? second?

9. If you are having a problem, list the possible causes. Include the word “other.”

What is really going on in this situation?

Please indicate the main reason.

Please indicate the strength of that reason (go to % chart).

What is the next major reason?

Indicate strength.

10. Write a list of potential goals/ New Year’s Resolutions you are considering for the next year.

To what extent do I really want to do this?

Do I have any blocks? doubts? fears about doing ___?

11. Write a list of possible approaches you are considering with a current project and include the word “other”.

Which approach would be most productive to take now?

To what degree would it be helpful?

Would anything else be helpful? To what degree?

12. Draw a half circle. On the left write 2500 B.C. and on the right write 2500 A.D. In the middle write 0, and then mark out every 500 years, and further subdivide for 100. Use for past and future lives.

13. Write or refer to a list of possible negative emotions.

What is this feeling of discomfort? Please indicate.

Is anything else going on here now? Please indicate.

14. Write or refer to a list of all possible positive emotions. On the bottom write “add”, then “increase”, and on the other write “remove block.”

15. Write a list of possible therapies or methods of healing.

Are there any modalities that would be helpful to me right now?

Please indicate.

On a scale of 1-100% to what degree would this modality be helpful?

Then write a list of potential therapists. Dowse who would be most suited for you, and the degree to which they would be helpful. Perhaps also dowse out who not to go to.

16. Write a list of animals or plants. Ask if you should consider raising one, and which ones.

17. If you are feeling uncomfortable about someone or something, list all the possibilities, and include the word “other”.

What is the main reason why I am feeling uncomfortable ____ (with/about) ____ ?

I AM…so happy and grateful…

“In the beginning was the word.” Genesis

Hypnotists understand the power that words have to powerfully impact upon your life. The most important words being “I am” followed by anything else. “I AM” has incredible creative power.

Hypnosis teaches that the subconscious mind, which controls all habits and automatic behaviors, is constantly listening to everything that you say. Through repetition, words program the subconscious, and that subconscious programming leads you to be inclined to do or not do, to notice or not, to just happen to be in the right time and place for whatever you have programmed into your inner mind to occur for better or worse.

Yet how often instead of deliberately helping yourself, you identify with the negative by saying anyway “I am ___ (sick, broke, tired, burnt out, overwhelmed)” etc. And even though I know better, I catch myself doing it too.

I have found a helpful antidote through the phrase

“I AM so happy and grateful that ___.”

The moment I say that I am happy and grateful I notice that it truly starts to shift my mood. Then I follow with more statements, quickly listing a bunch of things that do, in fact, make me happy, or for which I am genuinely grateful. I start with statements that I honestly believe. In starting with the easy things, it sets up the right frame of mind for me then to shift gears on those areas that need help or in which I need to manifest a positive outcome. It is important, however, to state these other things in a way in which you can believe them. Saying something you think is impossible will only backfire.

First, I start with anything is easily true for me:

“I AM so happy and grateful that it’s a beautiful day.

“I AM so happy and grateful that the sun is shining.

“I AM so happy and grateful that the flowers are starting to bloom.

“I AM so happy and grateful to live in this beautiful place.

Then I make statements to shift my attitude in a positive way on a challenge I need to resolve:

“I AM so happy and grateful that I have reliable, capable help to ____ at a price I can easily afford.

“I AM so happy and grateful that I quickly attract the very best tenants into my property at ____ Street.

Finally, I visualize it as done and soak up the good feelings of that happy completion.

Personal Story

Years ago I was sponsored to teach throughout India. On a day off I went to a botanical park. The cab driver dropped me off at the entrance and said that I should walk straight through the park and he would meet me at the exit. Fine.

So I walked through this delightful but huge gated park. When I had enough, I went out the exit upon which the gate locked behind me. However, there was no cab driver. So I had to walk all around the outside of the park back to the entrance and try again.

This time I saw a fork in the path, and took it. Sure enough, there was another exit, and out I went. Again the gate locked behind me, and, you guessed it – no cab driver. So for the second time I walked around the fence back to the entrance, again looking for yet another exit. Found it, and hooray – lots of cabs. Unfortunately, not mine. The cabbies said that my driver got tired of waiting and left. So, once more I walked around the perimeter back to the entrance whereupon they kind attendant who luckily spoke English called my hotel and sponsor.

While I was angry, tired, hot and thirsty, depressed, and just fed up, I gritted my teeth and focused on anything for which I could be grateful. “I’m glad I have feet. I’m grateful I can walk. I am glad to be here in India instead of Newark, New Jersey right now.”

First of all, all illness has a stress component that weakened the system and interfered with it’s ability to maintain homeostasis. And, in addition, those same stressors may be siphoning off vital energy that is required for healing now. This stress can be physical including chemical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Anything that consumes more energy than it supplies can be considered a ‘stressor’ including ‘good’ or ‘happy’ things like moving into a new home, getting married, having a baby, starting a new job.

While illness may have a genetic component, biologist Dr. Bruce Lipton maintains that each gene can have multiple possible expressions. The environment determines how it is expressed. So why this expression, and why now?

Illness can also have a pathogen component. Yet it has been found that people can be exposed to the same bug, yet not everyone gets sick. Why?

Dowsing for Mind-Body Healing

When a person is ill, they typically go to a doctor for a diagnosis. But the diagnosis, even if accurate, is not the root cause of the problem. The disease may only manifest after years of the body being abused, of other things being unbalanced or neglected, of the mind or body being overworked, overwhelmed, stressed out, of the spirit disconnected from joy, purpose, fulfillment or loving relationships. The cause may stem from years of unresolved upsets and issues, detrimental beliefs, habits or lifestyle.

In this way, disease is an opportunist taking advantage of some weak spot. And while a person may be good about taking good care of himself in certain ways, he may ignore or even abuse himself in others. For example, he may eat right or exercise but still smoke. It is in the neglected or abused area where the body and health will break down. At the time, he may think he is invincible, that his body will always bounce back, or that for any reason that he has to push himself beyond sensible limits. He may think that his ego, sense of self image, job or family responsibilities or finances depend upon it. He may feel that life is about having fun but then interpret ‘fun’ in some self-destructive way. He may think that he has plenty of time to get serious about his health in some far distant tomorrow. Then tomorrow comes and the piper wants to be paid.

Think of it this way: a house may be burglarized because it was easy— by all appearances, no one was home, the door was unlocked, or a window was left open. And while there was an alarm system, it may not have been turned on. Closing the window now does not bring back what was stolen, but it is still important to do so anyway because it can stop another burglary.

So if you are dealing with a poor health condition, what window of opportunity did you leave open that made it possible? What important nutritional supplements did you have in the house but were not taking? What stress management tools do you know that you were not practicing? What common sense principles or practices or habits that you already know about were you ignoring?

Even when the health problem is obvious as with a broken bone from an accident, that accident may have only occurred because the person was not centered, paying attention or distracted, perhaps because of worries, or lack of sleep. Maybe he was partying late, burning the candles at both ends, or upset about something.

In short, health can never be separated from the other aspects of a person’s life. And healing always needs to consider the bigger picture, not only regarding good basic self care but also mental, emotional and spiritual issues as well.

Dowsing can help locate what is out of balance, what habit, diet or lifestyle changes need to be made. It can pinpoint what mental and emotional issues need to be addressed, and where, when and with whom they arose. Dowsing can set up a priority list of where to start, and which actions/modalities will have the most beneficial effect. It can through intention remove blocks to healing including detrimental beliefs and judgments. It can indicate the degree of progress in resolving problems and stuck energies.

In short, dowsing has phenomenal potential in identifying underlying issues and tracking their resolution. It uncovers what is hidden and infinitely speeds up the process leading to faster healing time.

Mental Entrapment

Your Belief System as a Cage

Throughout my adulthood, I have pondered the power of a group to entrap the minds of those who belong by allowing someone else–a living leader or a dead one or even a group as a whole–to do their thinking and decision making  for them, and to tell them how to live their lives and what action to take on anything. This applies not just to cults, but to religions, politics, philosophical ideologies of all stripes, social media and identity politics (race, gender, sexual identification and orientation, vegan or not, victim of ___, 12 step member, etc).

Group think goes beyond what to believe and how to act. The group can become your very identity and your ‘family’. Consequently, it becomes very threatening if you start to have any questions or doubts. A warning sign of group think is that you are not only told what to believe but honest questions or debate are ridiculed, disallowed or even punished.
A belief by definition is something that is not or cannot be proven, but which is just accepted on faith. It is one thing to accept unimportant things on faith from what you consider a good source until such time as you find a better source. But it is another thing to accept important things on faith without extensive research and thought, and it is even worse to defend such unexamined beliefs by attacking those that do not agree with you.
Another warning sign of group think is that you are told who is’ good’ and who is ‘bad’, who to love and follow, and who to hate or censor, who and what to support, and who and what to protest or punish. Such group is oppressive to personal growth and evolution even if it claims to be spiritual or take the moral high ground. The leaders that endorse group think are into ego, control and manipulation. You might consider the teachings of any such group as propaganda or mind-control. Especially is this true if fear is used to discipline and control members.
It can be comforting to feel certain about things, and for someone else tell you what to do instead of making the hard decisions yourself. It is also very seductive to feel that you are on the ‘right’ side, that you are ‘enlightened’, ‘progressive’, ‘spiritual’ or in any way morally superior to those that have different beliefs or group affiliation. Your ego can get caught in a trap that mistakes your beliefs or group affiliation for your core identity. At that point, it becomes progressively harder to examine and move past those beliefs or to find your core self.

The truth of who you are is separate and apart from your beliefs and the group that shares them!

I was reading an article about a particular religious group. I am not interested in debating the merits of this group or the veracity of this critic, so I have deleted it’s name. But do feel that the comments of this person could well apply to ANY GROUP. Consider his observations when you think about the increasing polarization in our society.
“The problem is that the longer you’re in something …. you start to form your identity around your belief system. Your ego can keep you from undoing this to the point wherein you can’t divorce yourself even from something that is bad for you. It even becomes near impossible to think clearly enough to ask yourself “Am I still a truth seeker, or am I now just blinded by my own beliefs to the point wherein I can’t be objective?” Which is it for you?

The hardest thing for most people is to question …[their group] once they’ve committed to it, especially after a number of years. You’ve got too much invested — friendships, habits, ways of thinking, belief systems and even part of your personal lexicon. Your identity becomes attached to these ideas that are adopted as your own. Thus, you can be a part of a big lie and self deception because your ego just won’t let go. You’re too close to the problem to recognize it. You become entirely defensive. You defend the lies, the plagiarisms, the accusations, the contradictions and the injustices of … [_____] as if they are all an attack on you personally. In the long run this is bad for you because you are being controlled by two forces: 1. the … [_____] organization and 2. your own set of beliefs.
To look at the truth about … [____], including the good and the bad, you have to check your ego at the door. This is way too much for many people to do. But if you’re brave and open-minded and are really a truth seeker, you’ll do it for your own good and the good of others. If not, you’ll continue to be in denial and to live a lie. It’s your own choice.”
================
While everyone needs teachers and guidance, in the final analysis, each of us has take personal responsibility and go inside to that still, small voice for the big issues. It is only there that we will find the answers for ourselves.
